The Wel’s impact on the neighborhood has been a strong one, with Bates-Cooke stating: “We’re excited for the rest of the neighborhood to see what we’ve been enjoying for a couple of months now … it’s bringing a lot of traffic to town.”

Restoration Kitchen & Cocktails

Established in 2018 with charity in mind, Restoration Kitchen & Cocktails is a dining and take-out experience like no other. Restoration Kitchen was founded on policies of charitable giving, as owner Billy Miller will tell you:

“Our whole concept is based around charity-work. We are a not-for-profit restaurant,” said Miller. “We pick two charities, two organizations that do such great work in the Long Island area, and we take those two organizations and put them up on a pedestal.” Uniquely, Restoration Kitchen allows its customers to choose one of the two businesses the money for their meal will be going towards.

Miller has had a background in the restaurant game from a young age, as well as an interest in charitable giving. The inspiration to open up Restoration Kitchen seemed to be a natural merging of these two fields.

“I woke up one day, I looked at my wife, and I said, ‘I really wanna get back into the restaurant business,’ but on the other hand, I also wanted to continue on the path that I have been and make a little change in society; change people’s thoughts and mentalities.”

As for The Wel-Come to Lindenhurst Fundraiser and Tasting Event, Miller is offering some Restoration Kitchen favorites: “For the event, we’ll be providing our signature buffalo cauliflower; also we do a brunch menu so we’ll be doing chicken and waffles … just your more socializing food, something to walk around with, be able to eat and drink at the same time.”

On the topic of Lindenhurst, Miller had this to say, “Lindenhurst is up-and-coming. It has become something that people have been waiting a long time for. I think together we can make a real difference in Long Island itself.”

Find Restoration Kitchen’s dishes at the tasting event, and visit the business itself for both delicious meals and specialty cocktails.
